I have seen this setting in the CFG file.
Can we set this number to whatever we want?
Such as 2000?

Hi.
Try main menu, general settings, system, limits. You should see a
setting for the maximum number of files in the dir browser.

I have been getting a "Directory Full" error on directories with more than
400 files in them.

Is that limit configurable without compiling a custom version of the code?
