Well bust my buttons! After having it plugged in for about 30 minutes, then
unplugging it while trolling eBay and then inspecting the screws and exterior
more closely, then posting the message below, and then plugging it back IN...
the unit is now charging!

Please disregard the message below. I'm all set.
