Subject: RE: So, are the new LiON batteries for the JBR replaceable or not?

Hi.
I wouldn't do that. LI-Ion batteries are subject to aging and, even
when not used, can fail after any long storage. See
http://www.batteryuniversity.com/partone-5.htm
Which states that they've seen significant reduction in capacity
even after one year's storage, and failure sometimes occurs after 2-3 years.

Wow, that was helpful! Thanks a lot! However, I have one more question. The
Archos manual says that the battery will last for the life of the unit
(whatever that means). I have had the unit for about a month. Is it wise to
buy a battery now, just to be on the safe side (in case they run out and
don't resupply in like 1 year or so)? Thanks in advance
