The problem lies with Archos as they are shipping the V2 in the original
recorder V1 packaging. Sellers just print what's on the box...rocker

Hi.
I made precisely the same error. The seller isn't "talking out of
his bellybutton" deliberately, but he is doing so. I was told the same,
bought on the basis of just such an email as you received, and got a V2 with
a LI-ion battery. I thought about returning it but didn't, and am quite
pleased with the unit. However, I wouldn't believe anyone who told you that
their unit used AA batteries unless they were selling it to you used or show
you a picture of the older recorder's form factor.
Aman

For instance, here's a very typical reply that I got. Is this guy (and most
of these people) just talking out of his bellybutton? (Auction is at:

I wrote the seller to ask whether it took 4 replaceable NiMH "AA"
rechargeables.

Here's the seller's reply:

At 7:34 PM -0700 5/11/04, BrandoUno wrote:

Seems pretty clear, doesn't it? How do you explain that?

That I wrote back:

> Thanks for your speedy reply. Does this mean that
> some V2s do not? Some of
> the auctions for the same model don't mention the
> NiMH batteries at all...
> I'm pretty confused.

To which he replied,

Thanks in advance for your help,
