Yeah, there's a little switch in the dc port that keeps the unit on.
You wouldn't want to force poweroff with the charger connected anyway,
because then charging would stop :X

However, you can disable the LCD backlight when the charger is plugged
into the archos unit (this was helpful for me because my eyes are _very_
photosensitive and I was having trouble sleeping when I had my unit
charging) (don't ask; I guess I'm a vampire. :)
