Subject: A higher quality voicefont?
From: Christi Alice Scarborough (christi_at_chiark.greenend.org.uk)
Date: 2004-06-11

I've been having a bit of a poke to see if I could find some way to
re-record a voicefont with less background noise. I came across the
Plantronics DSP series mics at
http://www.plantronics.co.uk/media/media_resources/literature/computer_audio/dsp_family_eng.pdf
which would appear likely to produce better quality sound than my
ordinary mic. So before I go off and spend a huge chunk of money on one
of these I thought I'd ask if any of the audio experts on here can tell
me if I'd get a worthwhile improvement in quality from doing so.

Thanks,

Christi
