He's being accused of not complying with the GPL (i.e., breaking the law).
He's being asked if his attempt to provide the files was "a joke." Sounds
pretty biting to me.

Probably not an issue at all, and had there been a polite request to "please
provide the files in a .zip, .gz, or .rar", I'd have never replied.
