Date: Sat, 10 Jul 2004 17:19:52 -0500 You can't change the behavior of a long press of the off button; it will always force the unit off, no matter what is going on. We are talking about changing the behavior of a short press of the off button while in the browser screen with playback stopped, letting the software take control and determining if it's ok to shut the unit off now or wait for disc activity to finish before shutting the unit off. -----Original Message----- From: rockbox-bounces_at_cool.haxx.se [mailto:rockbox-bounces_at_cool.haxx.se] On Behalf Of Christi Alice Scarborough Sent: Saturday, July 10, 2004 5:06 PM To: Rockbox development Subject: Re: intelligent shutdown? Before you all get too excited, I should point out that the Off switch is implemented in hardware. There is nothing the software can do to stop the drive shutting down if you press that Off switch for long enough. I doubt the situation would have remained like it is currently if this were something fixable.
