Date: Wed, 15 Sep 2004 15:18:32 -0400 I wrote a wrapper script for fdupes: http://freshmeat.net/projects/fdupe/ I can have it either prompt me or give precedence to specific dirs and autmatically put duped files into a 'dupes' folder. This works even if the duped files have totally different names. It doesn't work if you have two copies of the same song/artist from different sources. This works under Linux. You might be able to work it with Windows or Mac <shrug>. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stu Engelke" <engineer_at_nycradio.com> To: "Rockbox development" <rockbox_at_cool.haxx.se> Sent: Wednesday, September 15, 2004 8:51 AM Subject: Re: eliminate duplicate files > I'd like something that looked for files with -similar- names. > Beatles - Hard days night.mp3 > The Beatles - Its a Hard Days Night.mp3 > > Stu > > At 08:45 PM 9/14/2004 -0700, you wrote: > > >Any recommendations about the best program to just look on my drive in > >designated folders, find duplicate mp3's, and eliminate the dupes? > > > >Thanks! > >_______________________________________________ > >http://cool.haxx.se/mailman/listinfo/rockbox > > > > > > > > > >-- > >Incoming mail is certified Virus Free. > >Checked by AVG Anti-Virus (http://www.grisoft.com). > >Version: 7.0.271 / Virus Database: 264.9.0 - Release Date: 9/13/2004 > > > Stuart Engelke > WMCA WWDJ NY > 201-298-2108 > > _______________________________________________ > http://cool.haxx.se/mailman/listinfo/rockbox _______________________________________________ http://cool.haxx.se/mailman/listinfo/rockbox Received on 2004-09-15 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
