In that case then, perhaps it's the connections to the battery.

I read on a page describing the dismantling of an Archos Multimedia (physically the
same as a FMR) of battery contact not being fully connected (inside the unit as opposed
to the end).

It may be worth taking it apart and having a butchers at the battery connectors.

I experienced somthing similer to this with an FMR I ended up sending back

for replacement.

I found it was a lose connection somewhere along the line as a small

squeeze would often

make the unit switch off.

If it's new i would send it back and get a brand new 'un.

Or if it's under warrenty then get 'em to repair it!

I have a new problem on my FMR.

When the battery charge is around below 90%, the FMR sudenly stops as if

the battery was flat.

I can generally restart it , it will play for about 1 to 5 minutes then

stops again.

I have charged the unit more than once , it always do the same.

it works well for about one hour, but when the battery charge is about 88%

or less, it randomly stops.

Do I need to change the battery at this point?

What do it show a hifh percentage if the battery is actually flat?
