Hello Rindi,
I am not quite sure what you Mean with this but I know that if talkbox is
enabled, the jukebox speaks the name of the first folder when start up is
complete. Then pressing F1 brings you to the speaking menus.

Of course, this all depends on your config right? I'm not sure many sighted
blokes would like default speech as they would probably turn it off
everytime and that might become annoying.

Cheers...rocker'

Oh Jorg, (sorry can't do the umlaut), how about defaulting file
voicing to "on", then you'd know, as soon as you boot, whether your
box was speaking. This would be helpful if (like I was) you were
trying to install without sight. What do the other blinkies feel? I
know I, and others, have done it before, but I really could have used
the 5 hours or so more profitably yesterday!.

Thanks,

Rob

Hello Rob,

so Christi dumped you? Poor guy!

Seriously, you've set your box to some wild language you don't have a
voice
file for. This can barely be fixed by reinstall or other things in USB
mode,
since the configuration is stored in a sector outside the file system.
I
think we should come up with some button to be held during boot to
start
with the default settings? A safe mode?

But for the language, there's an easy fix:
In USB mode, delete all .lng files in ".rockbox/lang/" for which no
voice
file exists. That will prevent such from being loaded at startup, and
default back to english.
