This is called the "Super Bass" option in Rockbox, which really is a
part of the Loudness function. It sets a constant volume at 1kHz
(normal) or 2kHz (super bass), but calling it a mid-range EQ setting
would be incorrect. Also, it only has effect when the Loudness is activated.

BTW, the MDB is a feature in the hardware decoder.
