excerpt from "help for" in "cmd.exe". (Manually translated ;) )

FOR /R [[Drive:]Path] %Variable IN (Set) DO Command [Parameter]

The Command will be executed - starting from for [[Drive:]Path] - for
every subdirectory. If no directory is given after the /R-Option the
current directory will be used as root for the recursion. If Set
consists of a single dot (.) only the directory structure will be listed.
