Okay,
How do I get it and what do I need to do?

Hi Sarai,
If you run the voicebox script, it will read folders & file names, just like
in the menus.

Oh yeah, Archos had cornered the market on the MP3 players for blind users.
Access World which is a technology magazine put out by the American
Foundation for the Blind did a tech review on the Ipod. I told them to do
one on the Archos w/ Rockbox and the IRiver. The AFB reviews blindness and
mainstream products. I just wish rockbox would read the names of the
directories and music files instead of spelling them out, but its better
than nothing. *grin*

Welcome Terry,

How about, buy and old archos jukebox of some nature from fleabay, use that
for your holiday, and upgrade in three months time when rockbox for iriver
(and such) starts to become stable?

When you upgrade, advertise your old archos here, you will have no shortage
of people to take it off your hands - I've read other blind users here talk
about buying them by the dozen for all their similarly visually-impared
friends and associates.

Setting up the speech system still seems to fox people regularly - so give
yourself an evening of patience, and maybe access to an IRC client - it
_does_ work and it does work well - but I think 1 in 20 emails here must be
about setting it up.
