I'm definitely not a particularly technically adept person, but I saw the car
charger project page

a try. I got all the parts for about US$4.00, spent about an hour soldering,
another two hours figuring out how to package it up for use in the car, and it
works great!

Thanks for all the great info on the site, and Rockbox has given my Archos
recorder a whole new life!
