make zip will create a zip like the one downloaded from a bleeding edge
build.

Post a patch on the patch tracker (see rockbox.org/patches.shtml), bug
people with CVS access on IRC or here. If you do this a few times,
someone higher up will eventually get "annoyed" and grant you CVS commit
access.
