Hi Sarai
Ok, level 7 is like 160kbps, I believe. for podcasting you won't need to go
that high with your bitrate. so set it to like 4 oor 5 like I was saying.
and then go to your recording, and then the recording screen option and
press the play button. If you have headphones on, you *should* be able to
hear yourself. You're in standby or pause mode now. Press play again and
you'll be recording. after you're done, press the stop button and wait a
few seconds for the file to write to the drive. You may actually have to
press stop twice for this to work.
  then, press the play button and you should be able to listen back to what
you recorded.
