@Rocker, I have not installed mp3fixer at all.
I have the mp3fixer.exe in my PATH (or in the director, where the file is, I
want to fix)

Assuming the file to be fixed is called "fixme.mp3" I open a DOS window and
type

mp3fixer fixme.mp3

and wait.
When the program is done, I have a second file called

fixme.mp3.mp3fixer

which needs to be renamed to get the extension ".mp3".
