I would suggest
1. Scandisk / fsck'ing your drive in case its got itself corrupted
2. Removing .rockbox directory in case settings are screwed in there

Hi all,
I am trying to do some recordings of lectures with my Archos Jukebox. The
quality of the internal mic is acceptable for me, however the sound of the
whirring hard drive is not. Is there some way to block out that sound?

Thanks...
Deech

Not really. You have three things working against you:
1) Proximity of the mic to the drive (picks up audio waves)
2) Mechanical coupling of the mic to the drive (picks up vibrations)
3) No room in the case to increase separation or mechanical isolation

Thanks. But wouldn't removing the .rockbox directory render Rockbox
useless? Or does it automatically create this directory?

You will need an external microphone for this.
It will need to be a powered mic, usually by battery.

If anyone here already has one, and you are bidding on one at ebay, I hope
you can let one go if you see oglenny bidding on one.
That's me.
I keep getting out bid for these things!
BTW, what are Archos JBR units going for these days, as if I land an iRiver,

I'll be selling a JBR to help finance the iRiver.

Hi folks,

Someone has (as I feared may be possible) broken the MP3 Walker, so it
would seem there is another problem yet to be identified :( ...I am
awaiting test data ... work continues...

I have tried to get a H120 from ebay, too. But they are sold there for
ca. 180 EUR. For 250 EUR there was the possibility to get a new one with
guarantee, etc. This for me is worth the additional cost. (Well, because
of the high price at all I did not buy one, yet)

So you will not be outbid by me. ;)

Gert
