On the version of rockbox that I've got, 2.5, there's no shut down option,
certainly on the version for the fm recorder.

This is *not* the recommended way on recorder v1. Holding the
OFF button performs a forced hardware shutdown, no chance for
rockbox to save settings. For safe shutdown, double-click OFF
while the file tree is displayed.
