Bah. That "kibibyte" nonsense was introduced in 1999, *50 years* after the rise of modern computing!
A "kilobyte" has _never_ been 1000 bytes. A "megabyte" has _never_ been 1000000 bytes. That doesn't change just because silly academics say so.
