That's why it is specified in g, not meters. ;-)

You can make a practical exercise in basic physics from it:
1st assignment: calculate the speed after 2m free falling
2nd assignment: calculate the shock, when the player is decelerated from
above speed to zero within, say, 1 cm of elastic material (bumper, floor,
case), assuming linear deceleration
