Hi Andrew and all,

For voice UI and playback related issues, keep an eye on;
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/SoftwareCodecPlayback
It lists the known bugs and the bugs recently fixed.
The bug you mention is I think covered by this:
Voice still sometimes eats itself after stopping playback. Unlike
the earlier case, this doesn't cause a hang, and playing music fixes it.
May happen again at the next stop. -- JensArnold - 26 Apr 2006
It might be worth expanding this to note that it usually only happens
after the playlist has ended.
