Subject: Which version for which player?

Which version for which player?

Hi there,

My apologies for asking this question again but I really am confused!

I want to update My archos Player/recorder to the latest version of Rockbox
and use speech on it as well.

I'm currently running the stable release of Rockbox 2.5 from September last
and all is well.

My problem is that firstly, no matter which build I install, and I have
tried a couple of them, along with the latest voice files, nothing talks, in
fact, I don't think Rockbox is even active.

I am also not sure what exactly my player is. For example, what is a
recorder 8MB, a Recorder V2 or a Recorder V2 8mb?
My machine has capabilities to play files and record them, but does not have
an fm radio. It has a 10gb hard disk, has the two round buttons at the left
side for powering on and off, has three long buttons just beneath the
screen, one of which is the menu button, and has the normal cursor keys with
the play key in the centre.

So after that, could someone please tell me what model I need to download
for, or better still, maybe email me the file in question, because I
personally find the layout of the table confusing.

Regards and apologies again for a long-winded email!

Stuart.
