There is a way, if you don't mind opening up voiceUtils.vbs in a text editor.
There isn't an 'external' setting for this parameter right now (although there
may be in the next update!)

Look for these lines (52-55):

'--- Set speech characteristics - volume and rate (no pitch?)

  spkr.Rate = 1. '-10 <--> +10
  spkr.Volume = 100 ' 0 <--> 100

IIRC, increasing the rate value will speed up the speech. The valid range is
from -10 to +10, as noted in the comments. If you'd like the voice to be quieter
relative to music and/or menu speech, you might wish to lower the volume setting
as well.
