Swissknife failed a few times now, and I don't know why.
This week, a new version of the Gparted-Live-CD was released. That
means that you can download this 30MB image, burn it to a cd, boot
from that CD and format the archos with that.

Sometimes, the radio can do better with different headphones, as far as FM 
reception anyway, as the headphone cord is the antenna.

I would take look at the Archos Ondio FM

but only mp3 is possible. The radio is poor, but line in & mic works fine. 
3AAA-batts required. internal memory 128MB, external MMC card up to 4GB. I 
have an 4GB Ondio FM and I'm very pleased with that.

Hi All,
Firstly Thanks Rob and Jamie.  Yes as soon as I downloaded the CVS voices
they worked perfectly.
Now I'm looking to use MP3 clip.  At present my directories are spelt and I
would like them spoken.
Please would someone be kind enough to:
*	let me know exactly what I need to have; and
*	What I need to do with each file.
I have looked in the Voicebox but do not have anything with a VBS extention.

hi list.
i now have my player fully working after replacing the speech file i was
running an incompatible file which caused it to be unstable.
anyway i'm getting ready to rerip my cd collection to ogg format but i'm
having a problem. i ripped too test tracks last night just to see that they
would play on the player. the files played fine in winamp however when i
moved them to the player the files showed up fine. however when i pressed
play on them i got no sound out of them at all. this is odd as i can play
other ogg files fine on it. does anyone have any ideas? as its mainly for my
mp3 player that i'm doing the rerips to reduce gaps in between files.

Hi Alex, don't know the details here, but it's worth checking whether 
the player you have will support .ogg files in the sample and bit 
rates your ripping at.  I know for example, that the iriver players 
won't support all .ogg bit rates and formats.  Hope that helps if

Oh, another thought, have you though of using something like goldwave 
to batch convert the MP3 files, rather than rewripping? you can 
elliminate silences in MP3 files that way too.  HTH,
