Because Rockbox is free and every part of Rockbox including all codecs
must be free as well. Free means you must be able to see and get the
source code. Which means, that the encryption of those files would be
quite useless, if everyone could get at least the source code to decrypt
them.

The original firmware is not free, and no source code is available, so it
can do things, that Rockbox can’t.

Simply don’t support those non-free crap.
