I have passed my CFG files to folks, and indeed, that is a way to look at
CFG files for sure.

Well, if you're up for a show of hands, yeah - make the system
blind-friendly by default.

As you say, no big deal for the sighted users to tweak it all up to
look pretty ...in fact you've only got to see the slew of skins
available for pretty much ANY program nowdays to realise that it is a
part of the fun. And where would we be if we couldn't argue "my
skinds better than yours".

I have also wondered why people have never released their config
files ...How is a config file really that much different from a
skin? I mean, they both tweak the way the player's interface works.

How carried away do you want to get. When a new install runs for the
first time (or critical upgrade occurs - or "reset" is selected in
some menu) ask "default for blind or sighted user?"

Ideas.
