Hello Rich,
the display does change with the files played, however, if you stop
playback and by that exit WPS to file browser, Rockbox highlights (and
speaks) the last file you added to playlist (or, if you add a folder, the
first file in the folder).
To change this, go to General Settings -> File view -> Follow playlist,
and change it to yes.
