Hi Mark,

It says in the Rockbox iPod Nano manual that your iPod has to be
formatted for Windows, and that there are directions for doing this
on the Rockbox site. I don't know where the directions are; you
might try the iPod FAQ.

I'm so glad the folks at the Apple store got your iPod functioning.
