The simplest and quickest way to do this is to get an MZ-RH1. With
this unit, you can rip the recordings to your PC directly, save as Wav
and reencode as you like. This is vastly faster and takes the
soundcard out of the loop.

I would not be overly stressed about conversion quality, as you are
already looking at transoding from ATRAC to some other format.
