Melissa,

The instructions you are reading which involve bin files, etc., are for
developers, those Linux users unable to run fwpatcher.exe or people who
are seriously into self-torture. You only need to read the installation
instructions for installing the bootloader on Iriver players for Windows
users using fwpatcher.exe. The firmware patcher does everything to the
.hex file that you need.
