Hey guys, come on.
Spam is a problem of email and SMTP, not of rockbox or any mail list
software (mailman in this case). Even that mailman is doing a pretty
good job at obfuscating the senders email address and any posted (like
quoted) email address as well, some spam harvesters are known to do
true-type character recognition and other tricks.
As others have stated before, one's gets spam even not having
published the address anywhere. Spammers do use other technologies as
well to get/guess email-adresses than simple site harvestig.
Get a decent spam filter and don't bother about it anymore.
For the record: Any so called "agressive" spam filter replying or
bouncing back the spam does in >95% of the cases not harm the spammers
personally, but other spam victims.
