Yeah, the alternative human interface stuff for Linux is admittedly
pretty weak.

You could use Firefox, and if you weren't aware of this already,
Thunderbird is available for Windows.

(As is the Gimp, OpenOffice, and a multitude of other F/OSS packages).
You can check out http://www.theopencd.org/, which is a CD packaging
lots of nice stuff into one CD.
