Another way to do it is to use a hardware synth.
I will take my dectalks with me to my grave,

Total Recorder records one sound stream, so if it's recording a file playing on your computer, it won't record JAWS or other sounds. I don't know of a way to do this with GoldWave; the only way I've recorded from the sound card, I've had to set it up so it will record all computer sounds, which would include JAWS.
