Hi Paul,

You can indeed have one audiobook per folder and have that book start
playing where you left off. Here are the settings you need:

Set Bookmark on Stop to Yes.
Set Load Last Bookmark to yes.

You can set the Maintain a List of Bookmarks option as you like. The
recent bookmarks list is voiced. You hear "index 3" or whatever the
track number is, then a time. The track number is determined by
where the file is in the folder, so if you were playing the third
file in a folder, it will say index 3. Usually you can figure out by
the time and track number which book is being referred to. But I
don't bother with the recent bookmarks now that I have the other
bookmark options set as described. Oh yes - I also have Resume on
Startup on, and it works fine and doesn't interfere with the bookmark settings.
