Hi Michael,
I don't remember if I wrote "right" or "left".
I believe it is on the left side, near the top.
I have a different model of iRiver, so mine is not on the side.
But from my reading of other posts, it is on the top left side of your unit.
It should be a small hole, and the button is in the hole.

I see no button or reset buttons on the top of the unit. I see the places you can plug head phones line in line out etc. On the side is a button but I can't do anything I can do with it. I can't push it in or out slide it etc. On the right side of unit it slides up and down but that is a hold button I was told.

Help??
