So if the 5.5 G model works is the battery life running rockbox longer than the 5 G video that is running Rockbox? On the apple site 5 G runs for 14 H while the 5.5G runs for 20, so if the 5 G running rockbox runs for 7 hours then doesn't it mean the 5.5 G will run for 14?

    I can't personally speak to the 5 G iPod Videos, but I've heard
    nothing but good things, save the compromised battery life (slightly
    more than 50% reduction from Apple's firmware, as I recall).

    The funny thing is that Rockbox tends to use less power on most
    platforms, but the iPod has not been reverse-engineered enough yet to
    tell the developers what to shut off and how.
