Any recommendations for drives to buy to give this a wirl?

I'm 99% sure my hd's bad, possibly some messed up sectors or something
deeper, but I want to give it a go myself replacing the hd.

Any special considerations, given that I can't see my own hands.

From sites I've saw you just unscrew, wip off the back panel? Take out the
battery, and the hd that's beneath it and fit the new one, screw it all back
up and that's you?
