Hi Anna,
I don't have an iPod, but I believe the AAC problem is because Rockbox now
uses the co-processor, which the older bootloaders don't support.
You need to update your Rockbox bootloader to the current one to fix it.
No idea on how to get out of the loop - someone else will need to chime in.
