I don't think so. I can revert back to a fresh Feb 28 daily build, drop
a voice file into .rockbox/langs and the menus will speak. This stopped
working immediately when I upgraded to any of the new builds using the
root menu system. Could it be that with all of the menu replacement, the
voice default, though might be set to on, now references a nonexistent
menu item?
