Rockbox mail archiveSubject: iRiver H320iRiver H320
From: S Sturgis <stevesturgis_at_hotmail.com>
Date: Fri, 25 May 2007 11:26:36 -0700 I was wondering if someone could tell me if I screwed up bad or if there is a fix to my problem. I have an iRiver H320 that /used/ to have the US firmware version 1.04. For some reason, the Data USB port decided to stop working. When a USB cable is connected, the iRiver displays Data Connection but the computer (XP SP 2) does not recognize the unit. I also have an H340 which works fine with the same USB cable and computer. The H320 used to work fine and then decided not to work anymore. The Media USB port was still functional but the transfer rate was painfully slow. I thought I would upgrade the firmware to the 1.29 J version to see if that would help. It did not help. In fact, it made things worse. Now, the H320 does not recognize the Media USB port and the Data USB port is still non-functional (displaying Data Connection but not recognized by the computer). I thought I would set the firmware back to the US version 1.04 if the 1.29 did not work but I cannot connect to it to copy the file to the unit. The technical support at iRiver (which was neither "technical" or "supportive") said that it is probably the hardware (hard drive) and that the unit is probably no good. They can do nothing since it is outside the warranty period on the unit. Is there something that can be done to restore the unit to at least the US version 1.04 or am I completely hosed? Is there someway of getting RockBox on the unit or some special keypad combination I can use to completely bypass the firmware? Thanks, Steve Sturgis _________________________________________________________________ Like the way Microsoft Office Outlook works?
