Subject: iRiver questions

iRiver questions

From: Bradley Alexander <storm_at_tux.org>
Date: Thu, 31 May 2007 00:28:28 -0400 (EDT)

I bought an iRiver H10 20GB from Staples about 3 months ago, and have been very happy with it. The first thing I did was to to put Rockbox on it. Currently, it is running r12914-070326.

Over the last week or so, the H10 has started acting strangely. Button presses have started either not responding or responding very slowly, e.g. several seconds. Last week, I had to rebuild the database, because apparently it went missing. Shutdowns, which used to take a few seconds, now takes up to 15-20 seconds.

Now, I have about 18GB of music on the iRiver that doesn't change, but anywhere between 1 and 1.5GB of podcasts that I change basically on a weekly basis.

I just attempted fsck.vfat on my Kubuntu laptop, and got a panic, which I have pasted in at the end of this message. I'm trying to determine whether it is hardware, the software on the iRiver, or my laptop.

Is it possible to write a fsck plugin?

Thanks,
--b
