There was some talk about this months ago. I think it would be best to
split the talk setting for dirs and files in 2: One that selects whether
to use .talk clips or not, and another that selects the method to use
when .talk clips aren't available (or
disabled): spell / number / off.
Why can't you make the clips work with the database?
