Hmm, like I said (several times) - I'm *NOT* referring to *RECORDING*!!! (He
shouts, loudly.)

Also the act of going into pause may kill all audio output (including the
beep), so there's a good chance it won't work anyway - as I've also said
numerous times.

(Sorry to get so niggly, I'm just fed up with repeating myself and not
getting much on-topic response I guess.)

And if you sant to suggest changes for recording, I suggest you put a
feature request on Flyspray.
