Why is it that some people feel compelled to write that their request is
"urgent", when nothing in the post suggests anything that won't easily
wait for a few days?

"Urgent" requests would be something like "I've just cut my leg off,
please send an ambulance".

People on this list are great at answering replies courteously and
promptly, without the need to resort to putting "urgent" in the subject
when the message very clearly ISN'T urgent.

Sorry, rant over. It's just one of those things that really riles me on
mailing lists!
