It is just a suggestion but it could be a good idea to pu those
instructions on the wiki so everyone would have the opportunity to look
at them?

It's not so hard to become a registered wiki member if you ar willing to
participate to the rockbox adventure. I can understand however that
going on IRC to request for an authorization could be a bit tricky for a
blind person who is not familiar with irc. It could be another topic but
may admins consider to another mean to request for the authorization?
some kind of form to submit for example?
