Hi Marissa,
I had the same trouble and I'm glad to know I'm not alone because it
tells me that it's not my h10, or yours.
As the previous writer said, load rev. 14571. It works great with speech!
I would also suggest that you delete the /rockbox directory before
installing the older firmware. You shouldn't need to reinstall the
iriver bootloader.
This is off topic, but I write songs and have birds too.
Feel free to write off list, about iriver or music and birds.
