  Sorry... my reply button doesn't seem to want to engage itself with jaws. Its infrequent and annoying.
  No, the skipping occurs with m4a and mp3 files at the previous bitrates. 112kpbs for mp3s and 256kpbs for m4a files. I use rockbox on a sansa, and that type of freezing with those files doesn't happen. I don't know if this is useful, but there it is.
