I am afraid, I cannot help you. But maybe it is interesting that holding
the power button for 15 seconds should hardly reset the player (at least
a sansa e200 player. I do not know how different a c200 is.). Perhaps
this might help?

Then, holding the "left"-key while booting the sansa e(!)200 leads you
back to the original firmware, so you can try around with the rockbox
installation.
